Salisbury Steak

Salisbury Steak

Salisbury steak is not just something that comes in TV dinners.  This is great comfort food.  It's delicious, easy to make, fast, and pretty cheap.

1

10½ oz can Campbell's French Onion Soup

2 lbs

ground chuck
1 egg
½ cup

bread crumbs

½ tsp

salt

¼ tsp

pepper
1 tbl AP flour
2 tbl ketchup
1 tbl Worcestershire sauce
½ tsp ground mustard
3 tbl water

Mix ⅓ cup of the soup, the ground chuck, bread crumbs, egg, salt, and pepper together in a large bowl.  Form into 8 oval patties approximately 1" thick.

Brown each side of the the patties in a frying pan and drain the fat from the frying pan.   Don't worry about cooking the patties all the way through. Mix the rest of the soup, flour,  ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and water together in a bowl.

Pour the soup mixture over the patties, bring it to a simmer, cover, and cook for 20 minutes.  Serve.  It's that easy!
