Avocado Margaritas with Hibiscus Sugar
Disney serves their version of these at the Mexico Pavilion in Epcot, and they are one of the most unique margaritas I have ever had. You might think that the avocado would be overpowering, but it’s not. Additionally, the hibiscus sugar is very unique. This is our take on their recipe. This recipe makes two cocktails. Lastly, you can get dried hibiscus flowers from Amazon and many specialty supermarkets.

1 tbl | ground hibiscus petals |
2 tbl | demerara sugar |
Avocado Margaritas | |
4 oz | silver tequila |
2 oz | melon liqueur |
3 oz |
agave nectar |
2 oz |
triple sec |
2 oz |
lime juice (Nelly & Joe's) |
½ |
Haas avocado |
2½ cups | ice |
First make the hibiscus sugar. Add some dried hibiscus flowers to a coffee grinder and grind them as finely as possible. Mix the ground hibiscus flowers with an equal amount of demerara sugar. We do a tablespoon of each.
Add everything else to a blender and blend well. Rub the top of a glass with a lime and rim the glass with the hibiscus sugar. Pour the blended ingredients in the rimmed glass. Serve.
