Garlic, Ginger, and Sesame Jasmine Rice

This is a nice alternative to store bought package rice.  You can use regular white rice for this if you don't have jasmine rice but the jasmine rice is better.

2 cups
jasmine rice
3 cups
water
2 tsp
sesame oil
2 tbl
butter

2 tbl

minced garlic

2 tbl
sesame seeds
1 tsp
granulated garlic
2 tsp
grated fresh ginger
1 tsp
salt
½ tsp
ground black pepper

Put the rice, water, and sesame oil in a 2 quart pot and bring to a boil.  Turn down the heat to very low and cover the pot.  Check it after 12 minutes.  Stir the rice and check to see it the water has been absorbed.  Do this every 2 minutes until the water has been absorbed.  Take the rice off the heat but leave the lid on.

While the rice is cooking put the butter in a large non-stick frying pan.  Turn the heat to medium and melt the butter.  When the butter has melted add the garlic and sesame seeds and cook this for 3 minutes.  Add the ginger to the frying pan, turn the heat off, and stir everything together well.

When the rice is done cooking, add it to the frying pan, sprinkle the salt and pepper over it and mix everything together well. Serve.
