Lemonade
Lemonade

Homemade lemonade is so good.  There really isn't anything that is better on a hot summer afternoon.  We are lucky enough to live in an area where Meyer lemons grow, and we have two Meyer lemon trees, so we had come up with our own recipe for lemonade.  Use store bought lemons if you can't find Meyers but don't use bottled lemon juice.  It isn't worth the trouble.

2 cups
sugar
6 cups
water
1½ cups
lemon juice

Add the sugar and water to a half gallon non-reactive container, and stir until the sugar is dissolved.  Once the sugar is dissolved, slice the lemons in half and juice them.  Pour the juice through a strainer to remove the seeds and most of the pulp.  Add the lemon juice to the container, stir well, chill, and serve over ice.
