Red Beans & Rice
Crock Pot Red Beans & Rice with Smoked Sausage and Ham

This recipe is so easy to make it's almost criminal.  You just dump everything in a crock pot and come back 5 hours later to a delicious dinner. 

1 lb
dried kidney beans
1
onion, chopped
3 stalks
celery, sliced thin
½ lb
your favorite smoked sausage
½ lb
ham, cut into bite sized pieces
1 tsp
granulated garlic
2
bay leaves
½ tsp
salt
½ tsp
thyme
½ tsp
black pepper
3 cups
water
4 cups
ham stock (chicken stock if you don't have ham stock)

Cull through the beans and pick out any weird ones or rocks. Add everything to a crock pot. Put the lid on and cook on high for 5 hours. Don’t stir it, don’t open the lid, and don’t touch it for the next five hours. Remove the bay leaves and serve over rice.
