I'm not a big fan of green beans but these are delicious
and very easy to make.
1½ lbs |
fresh green beans |
2 tbl |
olive or canola oil |
¼ tsp |
red pepper flakes or ½ tsp Chili Oil |
4 cloves |
garlic,
minced |
½ tsp |
salt |
2 tbl |
water |
Cut the stems off of the green beans, wash them,
and dry them. Now get out the largest skillet you have
that also has a lid. Heat the olive or canola oil in the
skillet over medium-high heat. Add the red pepper flakes or Chili Oil and stir to coat the pepper in
the oil. As soon as the pepper is stirred in add the green
beans and cook, stirring occasionally, until the beans are
blistering and browning. This should take 5 to 7
minutes. Add the garlic and salt and cook, stirring
constantly, for about 30 seconds or until the garlic is
fragrant and browning. Add the water and immediately
cover. Put the cover on and let the water steam the green
beans for 1 to 2 minutes until they are bright green and crisp
but tender. Serve.
